The centres' experimental labs are, located in the basement of the Chemistry Department at UCL . Currently, the main experimental drive concerns the formation of molecular hydrogen and more complex small molecules, on simulated cosmic dust grains under "interstellar" conditions.
Two major experiments are running concurrently:
Cosmic Dust Lab |
Surface Science Lab |
Hydrogen Formation on Cosmic Dust Analogues |
Experiment to study the formation of simple interstellar molecules on cosmic dust grain analogues |
Addition Reactions on Interstellar Dust Grain Analogues |
