Experimental Activities

A recent review of the activities of the Centre can be found here.

The centres' experimental labs are, located in the basement of the Chemistry Department at UCL. Currently, the main experimental drive concerns the formation of molecular hydrogen and more complex small molecules, on simulated cosmic dust grains under "interstellar" conditions.

Two major experiments are running concurrently:

Cosmic Dust Lab

Surface Science Lab

Hydrogen Formation on Cosmic Dust Analogues

Experiment to study the formation of simple interstellar molecules on cosmic dust grain analogues

Addition Reactions on Interstellar Dust Grain Analogues

The final Leverhulme report is availble as a pdf document.
