An organic chemist, Brady was born in South Africa and obtained his first degree from Cape University. He then came to the UK and after studying and getting a demonstrator position at I******l College, he joined UCL. MAT Rogers recalls that "he was big in aromatic oximes" (Rogers himself was "big" in aliphatic nitrones). He became Dean of the Faculty of Science, which position he held from 1945-48.
He was remembered by Ingold in an obituary in Chemistry in Britain, 1968, (4), 554.
