The Chemistry Department at UCL has had a rich and varied history much of which is documented in these pages.
Dr Andrea Sella is working hard to add further details to the record and would be happy to hear from you if you have recollections or information regarding any of the historical characters detailed within.

When you realise the scale on which these reactions were carried out, and the fact that the pelican was heated over a charcoal brazier, it is remarkable that we do not seem to have records of catastrophic accidents taking place."
